Admissions and Programs
A dedicated staff directs the school's inclusive enrollment, where typically-developing students blend with those facing mental and physical challenges.
Any child between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 diagnosed with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy or developmental delay is eligible for admission. Decisions for admission are dependent upon the family's and child's needs and the program capability to meet those needs.
The Allen School program is individually tailored to maximize each child's potential. A combination of early childhood teachers, special education teachers and paraprofessionals work together with physical, speech and occupational therapists to ensure that all students are given the perfect balance of education and inspiration. This interdisciplinary team develops each child's individual habilitation plan that includes time-related and behavorial objectives.
Certified Case Management is available to children with disabilities who are enrolled in the Preschool and Early Intervention components of The Allen School. Our service coordinators help families find support and services that are offered in the community and help arrange receiving that support.
Our Family Support program is also offered to children with disabilities who are enrolled in the Preschool and Early Intervention components of The Allen School. The program provides financial services to assist families experiencing difficulty with community integration and support of their child.
The Allen School also offers Before School Care from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and an After School Day Care from 3:00-5:30 p.m.
